Summary:

The Ambulatory Clinical Nurse Manager leads outpatient clinical operations, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. This role supports nursing teams through effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, while fostering collaboration across interdisciplinary teams. The manager promotes professional development, drives operational excellence, and translates strategic goals into practice to improve patient outcomes and staff engagement.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic leadership responsibilities include change management, collaboration, and shared decision making, in an effort to implement and align unit vision with organizational vision. 
2. Adds value as a key leader; understands the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy. 
3. Human resource leadership skills, including performance management, staff development, and staff retention strategies. 
4. Financial management related to the budget and revenue of department. 
5. Performance improvement related to metrics, quality, patient safety, patient/staff engagement, regulatory and workplace safety requirements. 
6. Relationship management and influencing behaviors including situation management, relationship management, influencing others, and promoting professional development.
 7. Demonstrates personal and professional accountability by fostering an inclusive environment in staffing and patient care, and by holding self and others responsible for equitable practices and respectful collaboration. 
8. Other duties as required. 

Other information:

Technical Expertise 
1. Experience in pediatric healthcare is preferred. 
2. Experience in Lean Six Sigma and other performance improvement methodologies is preferred. 
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. 
4. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required. 
5. Proficient in MS Office Suite [Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Epic or similar EMR software is required/preferred. 

Education and Experience 
1. Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing [BSN] is required; Master's degree in Nursing [MSN} or other field [MBA, MHA, MPH, etc.) is required or obtained within 3 years of hire. 
2. Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse licensure is required; current Health Care Provider BLS is required. Relevant professional nursing certification preferred.
3. Years of relevant experience: Minimum 5 years of nursing experience preferred. 
4. Years of supervisory experience in healthcare: Minimum 2 years in a leadership role preferred.
