Wondering what to expect as you join the Career Launch program?

Q: Who is eligible for this program?
A: Current and future Akron Children’s team members are eligible to participate in Career Launch. Prospective candidates must be able to complete all of Akron Children’s onboarding requirements.

Q: What happens after I apply?
A: You’ll receive a detailed document that includes our current recommended schools, information about our entry-level positions and a link to schedule your intake call.

Q: How should I prepare for my intake?
A: Before your intake call, thoroughly research the role you’re interested in. Websites like YouTube and TikTok, along with the certification website for your chosen profession, are great places to start. Look at the available school schedules and think about the best options for you. We’ll want to discuss your findings during your intake.

Q: Will I work while I’m in school?
A: You get to choose. We offer two options: our traditional route is for participants who want to work at Akron Children’s while they attend school, and our plus option is for those who want to focus on full-time studies, then work after graduation.

Q: What does the program cover?
A: Career Launch offers full pre-paid tuition coverage, including uniforms and fees for books and supplies. We also provide transportation and childcare support to participants with financial needs in these areas.

Q: What happens after I graduate?
A: Our Talent Acquisition team will assist you as you transfer into a new position to use the knowledge and skills you gained in the classroom.

Q: Will anyone help me?
A: We work with enrollment counselors at our recommended schools to support your registration process. We also offer mentorship and ongoing support to all Career Launch participants.
